Title: The Kingdoms Of This World
Key Scripture: John 18:36
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
The expression “the kingdoms of this world” is evident in our today’s world. Today’s world is full of satanic and self worship, greed, pride, evil and wickedness. This is why God urged us in his word that though “we” are in this world, we are not of the world.
Jesus Christ made reference to this while he was before Pilate during a debrief before his crucifixion, Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence; John 18:36.
It appears to a layman, mere looking at these scenarios that the kingdoms of this world is distinct from the Kingdom of God or the Kingdom of Heaven. A question may pop on your mind in reflection to God’s creation of heaven and earth. God gave man dominion over all his creation. Consequently, if he is the GOD of heaven and earth, is he also the God of the kingdoms of this world?
The cherub named Lucifer having been cast out of heaven sought to still have influence over man on earth. Satan first came after God’s creation and tempted man. The Bible records that he met with Eve and poisoned her mind, leading to the fall of man and separation from God. Satan has long dominated the earth. Satan is biblically characterized in John 12:31 as the “ruler of this world”, and the “god of this world” (2 Cor. 4:4).
This can be implied from his (devils) statements to Jesus when he offered Him the kingdoms of the world and its glory. (Luke 4).
That remains a vivid clarification of the god of the kingdoms of this world. Having established that fact, Satan is the one who causes decadence in this world. Therefore the kingdoms of this world is the kingdom ruled by Satan to be cast out in due time.
God in his infinite mercy sent a Saviour to save mankind -his only begotten son to come and die for our sake so that whosoever believeth in him will be saved by his grace through faith. This is why the word of God compels Christians to spread the gospel of Jesus all over the world so that his people will be with him through the indwelling of Jesus Christ, communing with man in the person of the Holy Spirit. Until the day of rapture preceding the second coming of the Lord, to separate his people from the kingdoms of this world, to a kingdom that will have no end. Luke 1:33.
This is revealed in the words of Jesus occupy till i come. Why then is he coming? He is coming to take away his people from a nation full of hatred, afflictions and all problems orchestrated by the devil. God is calling out to his children Ephesians 6:11 says, put on your whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities against powers against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places, …that you may be able to withstand the evil day.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. The bible referred to the kingdoms of this world as evil world. Satan is a destructive force seeking who to devour, but, on the second coming of the world jesus will come to take us to the kingdom of heaven and God will take back the power that was given to Satan..
The kingdoms of this world is the system influenced by Satan through infusion of bad motives that corrupts us first before corrupting the world around us. Jesus admonishes us saying, Love not the world, neither the things in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. John 1:2:15
He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. John 12:25
Upon the second coming of Jesus, the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
Father take us through the darkness of this world into everlasting light. Blessed are they who have been persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven let your will be done Lord. Take all the glory Lord for the assurance of eternal life that is ours by faith.
Action Point or Confession:
As Christians are in this world but not of this world. We are not conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of our minds, so that we may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. We choose by faith to believe in your promises and receive Christ into our lives.
